Municipal strategy
A municipal strategy in accordance with the new Local Government Act was prepared for the first time in Siikainen in 2016. The strategy is reviewed annually at a council seminar. The strategy includes the municipality's basic principles for maintaining and further strengthening well-being and vitality. The budget determines the more detailed measures for the following year, which are reported in the financial statements.
2026-2029 Municipal residents were involved in the creation of the Municipal Strategy
During the summer and autumn of 2025, Siikainen involved local residents in the preparation of a new municipal strategy. Approximately 200 ideas were collected in less than three months. The abundant feedback showed a strong interest in the development of the municipality and provided valuable information for the strategy work. Data was collected both with the Kunta.live application and with paper forms in face-to-face meetings.
