Safe traffic is created together. The municipality does its part to ensure a safe traffic environment, but traffic safety is also affected by the choices and actions of everyone on the road.

The traffic safety work of the municipality of Siikainen focuses on a safe traffic environment, traffic education, cooperation with various actors, and the utilization of observations and feedback from residents.

Report a traffic safety issue

Did you notice a problem that is weakening traffic safety in Siikainen? Tell the municipality about it.

Feedback can be given, for example:

• traffic signs
• objects that obstruct visibility
• dangerous intersections or junctions
• walking and cycling conditions
• speeds and traffic arrangements
• street lighting.

Where do I report a traffic problem?

There are many different situations that you may encounter in traffic, and it is worth reporting them to the right authorities. Municipal streets, state roads and traffic disruptions belong to different actors.

Traffic safety work

Traffic safety is promoted in Siikainen in many ways. The municipality can influence, for example, the safety of streets and traffic arrangements, traffic signs, visibility, lighting, and walking and cycling conditions.

Traffic safety is also promoted through traffic education, communication and cooperation. The work is carried out together with schools, early childhood education, organizations, authorities and other local actors.

Observations and feedback from local residents are also an important part of traffic safety work. When problems or dangerous areas are noticed in traffic, it is worth reporting them so that the issues can be addressed where possible.

Siikainen Traffic Safety Working Group

Siikainen's traffic safety work is coordinated by a traffic safety working group, which meets twice a year.

The working group discusses current issues related to traffic safety, feedback from local residents, and issues related to the traffic environment and traffic education. The working group plans and coordinates activities to promote safe transportation in cooperation with various actors.

Traffic safety plan

Siikainen's traffic safety work is guided by the municipality's traffic safety plan.

Traffic safety work is long-term, and its implementation is monitored.

Feedback channel
