On March 17, 2026, the Municipality of Siikaisten and the Siikaisten Yrittäjät ry signed a vitality pledge, which together aims to promote an entrepreneur-friendly atmosphere in the area and strengthen the vitality of the area.

The vitality pledge is made each council term, and the priorities and goals created together in it, as well as their progress, are actively monitored.

The pledge was signed by Siikaisten Mayor Heli Kaskiluoto and the Chairwoman of the Siikaisten Yrittäjät ry, Sanna Herttua-Laiho. The CEO of Satakunna Yrittäjät, Kari Varis, was also present at the event.

The pledge defines five priority areas, which are aimed at concretely improving the operating conditions for companies and at the same time strengthening the vitality of the municipality. The implementation of the priority areas is monitored annually between representatives of the municipality and the entrepreneurs' association.

The focus areas of the Vitality Pledge are:

1. Effective dialogue

The municipality is committed to engaging in active dialogue with the business sector. Together with the representatives of the Entrepreneurs' Association, the means of dialogue will be agreed upon.

2. Smooth planning and permitting process

Permit and zoning processes must be smooth. In zoning projects, the views and ideas of companies are taken into account by the preparation team at an early stage.

3. Entrepreneur-friendly procurement

The municipality surveys the market before each procurement and commits to organizing a dialogue. The municipality strives to divide procurements into entities that enable micro and SME companies to participate in tenders, where possible.

4. Business impact assessment

The impact on companies' operating conditions is constantly taken into account in decision-making. The manual prepared by the Federation of Finnish Entrepreneurs is used as support in assessing business impacts.

5. Encouraging entrepreneurship and utilizing the Municipal Barometer

The municipality, together with the Entrepreneurs' Association, is committed to promoting a positive entrepreneurial atmosphere. We will monitor the results of the Municipality Barometer and develop measures based on the results.
