The application period for the Volunteer Work Award has been extended until the end of August 2026.

A volunteer work award has been introduced in the municipality of Siikainen as of January 1, 2026, and is given in recognition of a person or group for significant volunteer work for the benefit of Siikainen and its residents.

Submissions for the 2026 volunteer work award were possible during March using the electronic application form on the Siikainen municipality website. Only one submission was selected for the volunteer work award by the deadline, i.e. in March 2026. The Welfare Board has decided to extend the submission period for the volunteer work award until 31 August 2026. The submission submitted in March 2026 will be taken into account when deciding on the volunteer work award.

Volunteer Work Award and presentations regarding its recipient

The Volunteer Work Award is given in recognition of a person or group that has done significant volunteer work for the benefit of Siikainen and its residents. The recipient's home municipality must be Siikainen. If the recipient is a group, it must operate in the area of ​​the municipality of Siikainen.

The award consists of a trophy, and the recipient is also commemorated with a cash gift.

Nominations for the Volunteer of the Year Award can be submitted until August 31, 2026.

The application period for grants for Siikainen Municipality's sports and outdoor activities, youth and cultural activities, and activities promoting well-being and health for 2026 has ended.

Available operating grants

The Siikainen Municipality Welfare Board annually awards operating grants to support the activities of associations that engage in sports, youth and cultural activities and promote the well-being of the municipality's residents, within the framework of the appropriations reserved for this purpose in the Siikainen Municipality budget. Each grant has its own allocation.

To receive a new grant, the applicant must submit an acceptable report on the use of previously awarded grants to the Welfare Board, if one has not been submitted previously. The report may also be part of the annual report for the financial year.
